My Story.
I'm the founder of OA Life, and my mission is to inspire people to achieve things they didn't think was possible, improve their lives and achieve their goals. It's my purpose, the mantra that I have lived by for many years. I realised early in my career that my greatest successes in life were helping others succeed. The most important wakeup call happened to me 7 years ago and completely transformed my life. I was working in America and had been working non-stop for years. And I was exhausted. I had been working 7 days a week. I had a genuinely tiring travel schedule travelling the world for work and what started as regular colds became fatigue, brain fog, low energy, lack of focus, and inability to be as productive as I needed to. I wasn't living my A-game, and I had nothing left in the battery. I had depleted all my reserves, and there was no energy left. I discovered that I had been overlooking one crucial element: ME. I was pleasing others and was putting other agendas first. Driven mainly by career success, I hadn't prioritised my wellness. I couldn't do it anymore.
I needed to get my brain and body fully charged again, and I started to look at changing my internal and external environments to get back to peak performance.
I got serious about my lifestyle transformation and introduced new habits and ways of living. It took work - mentally, emotionally and physically.
The truth is, creating life balance and having the happy, fulfilling life you want isn't that complicated, but it does take work, commitment and personal accountability. I made choices by making small adjustments that had a profound impact. Curiosity has always served me well, and I used this opportunity to take a comprehensive approach to research, learning and networking with high-performers. I started to understand the triggers that impeded my ability to have energy, focus and drive. I quickly realised that small differences do make a big difference and more significant changes needed patience and commitment.
There was an a-ha moment when I recognised there was not a unique formula or magic wand just set out for me. It was about surrounding myself with the right people to support me, setting my own goals, creating my plan of action and starting new habits. It has allowed me to completely transform how I live my life, with greater alignment, energy and focus.
That's when I decided I wanted to help and coach others to build a better life balance to deal with the mental, emotional and physical aspects of wellness, to create the energy and wellbeing to live a happy, connected and accomplished life.
